AMARGOSA - BIG DUNES
Aptly named, at the Amargosa Big Dunes, the Sand Dunes exceed 500 feet in height and are absolutely breathtaking in their immensity. The site sits right near the middle of nowhere! (Amargosa is actually near Area 51, those driving too far to the east will encounter armed security personnel.) Once on-site, you'll have 4 hours to EXPLORE the BIG SAND DUNES with SunBuggy Support staff on hand to show you around this sandy playground, ensuring that you have a great time and know where environmentally sensitive no-go areas are!!
Like all of our adventures the Amargosa Big Dunes Adventure is all inclusive and we provide a free shuttle from your hotel and back. Because Amargosa Big Dune Off-Road Adventure is a whole day excursion, we will have snacks on hand, feed you lunch, and of course keep you hydrated with plenty of complimentary ice-cold bottled water. This is an all-inclusive VIP Off road adventure with premium equipment, the best support staff in the business! If you have the means to go big, go big dunes!
The Amargosa dunes are so steep and so tall that you're not likely to get to the top of many of the larger ones, but we know you'll have fun trying. These are the tallest dunes in North America! One of the best parts are the huge 'bowls' formed between the large dunes. You zip towards the bottom only to race back up the other side, then turn around and repeat. This is a supervised free roaming off road adventure tour:
1. We'll show you around the area so you know where on the dunes is OK to play
2. We'll provide education about the protected Big Dunes Beettle to be sure you know where the no-go zones are.
3. Guides will show you how to drive the buggies and navigate over the sand razorbacks and how to avoid getting stuck in the deep soft sand
4. Then you're free to explore all on your own while our staff stays on site to assist as needed and to make sure you're having a safe adventure.
This adventure is approximately 8 to 9 hours from door to door, and we require a 4 vehicle minimum to make the Amargosa trip.If your group wishes to book less than 4 vehicles call us to see if we're running to the Big Dunes on the day you want to go. If the shuttle ride from Las Vegas seems too long, ask about arranging a helicopter to whisk you up from the Las Vegas airport on the south end of the strip. We can make it happen for an additional fee. You can also arrange an overnight Off Road adventure where you rent a motor home to stay out by the dunes. The camp fire and smores are included!
